It’s summer - the time to slow things down a little and enjoy the good things in our lives. The kids are in the middle of all of their summer activities and the weather is reminding us that we live in Central Florida. And that’s not the only thing heating up, as we are now deluged with wearisome political ads heading towards the August primaries. Hopefully, we will all do a little homework the next few weeks so we can cast our votes based on facts, not rhetoric. Let’s all celebrate July 4th with gusto - we truly do live in a great country! After your holiday weekend, continue to get out to our beaches, restaurants, events and attractions this month, and reap all the benefits of living in the Orlando area of our fantastic state of Florida!
Folio Florida now has a Facebook page. Facebook friends, please "Like" us in order to get regular updates on what is going on in our wonderful Orlando area, and also to make us look good!

Moonlight Players: The Pirates of Penzance 352-319-1116 www.moonlightplayers.com In The Pirates of Penzance, Frederic was as a child apprenticed to a band of tenderhearted, orphaned pirates by his nurse who, being hard of hearing, had mistaken her master’s instructions to apprentice the boy to a pilot. But it turns out that he was born on February 29 in leap year, and he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday. Melon Patch Players: The Sunshine Boys 352-787-3013 www.businessmasters.net/melonpatch This play by Neil Simon focuses on aging Al Lewis and Willy Clark, a former vaudevillian team known as "Lewis & Clark" who grew to hate each other over the course of 40+ years and never spoke off-stage during the final year of their act. It is now 1972, and much of the play’s humor comes from efforts to get the two old coots into the same room for a rehearsal for a CBS special on vaudeville. When: Friday, July 30th @ 8 pm, Saturday, July 31st & Sunday, Aug 1st @ 2 pm (Play runs July 18th - Aug 1st, see other dates) Where: Melon Patch Theatre, 311 N 13th St, Leesburg Tickets: $15 adults, $7 students |
